Software Engineering (SWE) Internship Job Description:

Juniper Networks is seeking students for Software Engineering Summer 2025 internships. The program offers hands-on experience in software development for continuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD students (preferably in EE, CS, or CE) graduating December 2025 or later. Interns will contribute to building robust, high-performance software used by global businesses.

Responsibilities and project areas vary by group, but generally involve:

• Working across the software stack, from UI to device drivers.
• Building infrastructure for global businesses.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong programming fundamentals (algorithms and data structures).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C, C++, Golang).
• Understanding of operating systems and/or computer networking concepts.

Desired Skills (for some projects):

• Experience with Linux.
• Data science experience.
• AI/ML knowledge.
• Cloud software concepts.
• Location development (WIFI, BLE, UWB) experience.
• Familiarity with software development tools (version control).

Additional desirable qualities:

• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Initiative and resourcefulness.
• Collaborative teamwork abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership experience (formal or informal).
• Understanding of current location technologies (WIFI, BLE, and UWB).

Internship Program Details:

The internship is project-based, enabling interns to solve significant problems and contribute to the company’s objectives. Mentorship from experienced innovators is provided. The program includes professional workshops, community service initiatives, an executive speaker series, and opportunities for networking and building relationships. The program aims to foster both personal and professional growth.

Compensation:

Minimum Salary: $84,000.80
Maximum Salary: $120,750.55

The salary range is subject to variation based on factors like location, skills, and experience. Benefits include medical coverage, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Employment is at-will, and the company retains the right to adjust salaries based on various factors. The provided pay range is in compliance with local state regulations.
