Job Description: Software Engineering Internship
This 10-week paid internship program at Ingram Micro’s Irvine, CA office (with hybrid work options) offers a chance to contribute to meaningful projects within the Global Digital Platform Engineering team. The team focuses on delivering innovative solutions that power worldwide operations, particularly the development and advancement of Xvantage, an AI-powered digital platform revolutionizing business management of services, products, software, and cloud solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the design, implementation, and testing of software applications throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate on the development and enhancement of web-based user interfaces (UIs).
• Contribute to both frontend and backend development tasks.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Manage individual tasks and priorities effectively.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
• Actively enrolled in or recently graduated (within the last semester/quarter) from an accredited college/university program.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (major or minor) or a related field.
• Experience designing and programming web-based UIs, with exposure to all phases of the SDLC, including testing.
• Basic experience with at least some of the following:
• Frontend Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React
• Backend Development: C#, Python, or Java
• Version Control: Git, GitHub
• Databases: PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Familiarity with software tools like Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365.
• Strong understanding of OOPs and Data Structures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Exposure to Generative AI tools (like ChatGPT) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Compensation and Benefits:
The typical base pay range for this role is USD $46,000.00 – $73,600.00 per year (pro-rated for the internship duration). Additional rewards may include merit increases, bonuses, and long-term incentives (depending on performance and position).
