Job Title: Software Engineering Intern – Summer 2026

About the Internship Program:
TikTok is seeking talented individuals for its 2026 Summer Internship program. This program is designed to offer students significant industry exposure and hands-on experience, helping them develop fundamental skills and explore potential career paths. Interns will engage in real-world scenarios, utilizing their knowledge to lay a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. The program duration is 12 weeks and includes a vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops.

Team Introduction: Experimentation and Evaluation Team
Our mission within the experimentation and evaluation team is to build the next-gen A/B testing platform. This platform empowers the entire company to make data-driven decisions across a wide range of products and scenarios, including recommendations, push notifications, advertisements, search functionality, mobile app features, UI interactions, and service upgrades.
The platform’s capabilities cover the entire experiment life cycle: from experiment design, creation, and metrics calculation to statistical analysis, final evaluation, and launch. We provide reliable services to businesses, enabling them to make bold hypotheses and cautious verifications through rapid iteration.
Responsibilities:
- Build new features that impact hundreds of millions of people around the world.
- Solve unique, large-scale, highly complex technical problems.
- Partner with Product Managers (PMs), designers, and engineers from various teams to build backend support for mobile applications.
- Participate in technical discussions related to the team’s product and engineering work.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
- Experience with coding in Python, Java, Golang, C#, or C++.
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated software engineering or big data experience from previous internships, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.
- Curiosity towards new technologies and entrepreneurship.
- High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.
- Graduating December 2026 onwards with the intent to return to a degree program after the completion of the internship.

Compensation and Benefits (Hourly – Campus Intern):
- The hourly rate for this position in the selected city is $45.
- Benefits may vary based on employment nature and country. Interns receive day-one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, and more.
- Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in the first half of the year, 40 if hired in the second half of the year).
- Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for a housing allowance.
