About the Internship: Software Engineering Intern – Smart Building Products (Summer 2026)

This Software Engineering Internship will position you as an integral part of the Siemens engineering team, working across a diverse product portfolio. Participants will have the opportunity to create new products and applications using the latest technologies and applying industry best-practices. This role is designed to drive the growth of Siemens through contributions as a Full-Stack Engineer, Back-End Developer, Front-End Developer, Mobile Developer, or Project Lead.

Location: Chicago, IL or Buffalo Grove, IL
Internship Duration: 10 weeks
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
Compensation: $28.00 – $34.00 per hour
Housing/Relocation: This role does not provide housing or relocation support. Candidates must be located within 50 miles of Chicago, IL or Buffalo Grove, IL.

You’ll Win Us Over By Having the Following Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
Graduation Date: Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026.
Programming Knowledge: Knowledge of Python/C++/C#/HTML/SCSS/JavaScript/TypeScript or other relevant programming languages.
Prior Experience: Prior experience as a Software Engineering Intern with Siemens Smart Building Products.
Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Availability: Available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week internship.
Location Eligibility: Located within 50 miles of Chicago, IL or Buffalo Grove, IL (no housing or relocation support provided).

Preferred Qualifications:
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills inside and outside the classroom.
