Software Engineer Intern (Ads Infrastructure) | TikTok
The Tone:
This is an internship at TikTok, located in various locations (e.g., Los Angeles). The Global Monetization Product and Technology teams at TikTok build next-generation platforms to help millions of customers grow their businesses using products like TikTok. This role is crucial for developing a wide variety of advertisements for numerous uses, including feeds, live streaming, branding, measurement, targeting, search, creative solutions, and business integrity. Interns gain industry exposure and hands-on experience, utilizing their knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth.

• Mission: Develop state-of-the-art software engineering projects for large-scale Ads systems and own key targeting components within the TikTok ads monetization ecosystem.
• Tech Stack: Go, C/C++, Python, Java
What You’ll Actually Do
• Development: Participate in the development of a large-scale Ads system.
• Project Ownership: Be responsible for the development of state-of-the-art software engineering projects.
• Strategy: Own key targeting components or strategies within the TikTok ads monetization ecosystem.
• Collaboration: Work with product and business teams on product vision.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Must be able to commit to a 12-week full-time work period during Summer 2026.
• Skills: Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in Go, C/C++, Python, and Java. Ability to think critically and formulate solutions to problems clearly and concisely. Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms. Very strong teamwork skills, including communication, ownership, empathy, and honesty.
• Bonus: Experience in the advertising, e-commerce, or gaming industry.
