NextGen is offering high-tech internship opportunities to students with a strong desire and interest to learn about software engineering. No prior work history is necessary, as they are willing to train the right candidates. Interns will be assigned a full-time mentor and will be embedded in team projects where possible.
This is a mentor-based internship program tailored for aspiring IT and software development enthusiasts. This opportunity offers a personalized 1-1 experience, pairing each intern with a seasoned industry professional as their mentor. Through hands-on guidance and individualized attention, interns will delve into real-world projects, gaining invaluable insights, skills, and practical knowledge. The program provides the support and mentorship needed to accelerate growth and kickstart a career in the dynamic world of technology, whether the intern is passionate about coding, system architecture, or software engineering.
Software Engineering Activities:
• Java or Python programming
• Implementing software for ingesting geospatial data into RDBMS
• Preparing briefings and architecture design diagrams
• Assisting in software development projects under the guidance of senior engineers
• Writing, testing, and debugging code
• Participating in code reviews to learn best practices
• Researching and implementing new technologies or tools
• Documenting code and processes for future reference
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
Qualifications:
• US Citizenship required
• Major in computer science, engineering, MIS, or information technology
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Thorough understanding of internet research
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Job Details:
• Remote work allowed
• Laptop provided
• Expected hours: 10 per week
