Detailed Job Description:

This is a Software Engineering Internship at Intel for Summer 2025 and Fall 2025. The internship is an entry-level position, offering the opportunity to contribute to Intel’s software engineering landscape while gaining valuable experience. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers, developing crucial skills and contributing to significant projects.

The role involves a broad range of tasks, providing exposure to various aspects of software development. Specific responsibilities may include:

Code Review: Participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality software.
Hardware Design Review for Software Engineering: Collaborating with hardware engineers to understand hardware implications for software design.
High-Level Software Design & Programming: Designing and implementing software components and features.
Software Architecture Input and Feedback: Providing valuable input on software architecture decisions.
Software Debug: Identifying and resolving software issues.
Development of skills in programming languages and scripting.
Contributing to open and secure software platforms.
Driving industry standards.
Building infrastructure for big data, intelligent devices, and cloud computing.

The internship will provide experience across a wide array of technical software skills. Intel explicitly states the internship will help interns build the infrastructure of tomorrow and contribute to the software ecosystem powering groundbreaking features in Intel products.

The ideal candidate will be demonstrating or developing skills in code review, hardware design review for software engineering, high-level software design and programming, providing input on software architecture, and debugging. The position requires a strong foundation in programming and scripting. While specific programming languages aren’t specified, proficiency in various languages is likely beneficial.

The internship is open to students pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field. A minimum of 3+ months of education or industry experience is required. Relocation benefits may be available, depending on location and role specifics. The position is not available in Colorado.
