About the Company:
Tesla’s Fleetnet team is an agile group of engineers developing the systems connecting Tesla and its customers to their vehicles. They are at the forefront of “connected car” innovation, providing backend services to a rapidly expanding fleet. The team specializes in IoT communication and server-side software, managing all remote vehicle interactions (remote control, diagnostics, telemetry for Autopilot, mobile app APIs, and over-the-air software updates). They build a highly scalable platform serving millions of Tesla devices and users.
Job Description:
This internship at Tesla offers a chance to contribute to the development and maintenance of Tesla’s Connected Systems UI codebase. The successful candidate will:
• Architect, maintain, and improve Tesla’s Connected Systems UI codebase.
• Build scalable, performant, maintainable, and well-tested features.
• Design APIs in collaboration with other teams and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field, graduating between 2025 and 2026.
• Experience in web development creating highly reliable, mission-critical software.
• Proficiency in both frontend and backend development, with a history of frequent production releases.
• Experience with Rails, React, Ruby, or Webpack.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Go and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of best practices in information security and API design principles.
• Experience gathering and building requirements from multiple stakeholders.
