About the Job (Software Engineering Intern):

Carrier is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Software Engineering Intern to join their Commercial Controls Engineering team. This is a summer 2025 internship lasting 3-4 months, located in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and debug application software for embedded HVAC control systems, implementing necessary changes and updates.
• Develop embedded control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Document and test control applications thoroughly.
• Research, investigate, and resolve technical code issues.
• Collaborate effectively with senior team members.
• Participate in peer and design reviews.
• Prepare a comprehensive end-of-summer internship report and presentation.

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Science.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with programming languages: C, C++, Python.
• Experience with simulation and Model-Based Design using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Knowledge of communication protocols: BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet.
• Experience working with Linux.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented work ethic.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Highly developed analytical and organizational skills.
• A positive and proactive attitude.
