Location: This role is within the Warfare Systems (WS) business group of HII’s Mission Technologies division.

Role Overview:
This internship is more than just a temporary position; it’s a chance to gain invaluable hands-on experience and prepare for a career supporting C5ISR systems. As an intern, you will be a crucial part of the team working on Minotaur, a vital mission management tool utilized on both manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft. Your contributions will directly enhance the operational capabilities of these systems, specifically by improving the processing of sensor data to help operators more effectively identify and track targets on land and at sea.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Developing and improving new capabilities for existing operational systems.
Supporting all stages of the software development lifecycle, encompassing design, implementation, integration, and testing.

Possible Projects You May Work On:
• Developing innovative solutions to critical operational shortfalls, potentially leveraging disciplines such as machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and signal/video processing.
• Designing and implementing user-friendly graphical interfaces.
• Enhancing and automating existing simulation and testing processes.
• Creating new proof-of-concept prototypes for cutting-edge projects.

What HII Is Looking For (Required Qualifications):
• You must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• You should have at least 60% of your college credits completed, typically indicating a rising college junior status.

Desired Skills and Experience:
• Demonstrated experience with software development in a Linux environment.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to think critically.
• A diligent, hardworking attitude with a strong desire to learn quickly.
