Job Description
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies, from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups, use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Their mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and they have a staggering amount of work ahead. This translates to an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About The Team
Stripe offers a unique environment, bridging the gap between a small startup and a multinational company. They have systems and processes optimized for early-career professionals, fostering an atmosphere that values rigor, discipline, and reliability in all aspects, from their products and ways of working to their colleagues. You’ll learn how the best teams put together extremely reliable systems and be responsible for operating them, with adequate backup when needed.
What you’ll do
Stripe believes in end-to-end ownership of projects, assigning a dedicated person for each project. While this person might not handle all the tasks, they’re accountable for ensuring the project’s completion. The company prioritizes early beta and prototype launches, focusing on building what users truly desire. They also contribute to the community by developing cool projects and releasing open-source software.
Responsibilities
• Work on cross-functional projects, collaborating with other engineers.
• Provide meaningful feedback on code reviews and technical designs.
• Ensure the systems your team operates run smoothly and scale to meet user demands.
• Develop the skills to own a project from start to finish, learning project management and technical leadership skills.
Who you are
They’re looking for individuals who meet the minimum requirements. If you meet these requirements, you’re encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
# Minimum Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science or a directly related field, obtained by summer 2025, or equivalent work experience.
• Some experience and familiarity with programming, either through side projects or classwork. They work mostly in Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go, but believe new programming languages can be learned with a solid foundation and general knowledge.
• Experience from previous internships or working collaboratively on multi-person coding projects (in a university or professional setting).
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and form an understanding of those systems through independent research and working with a mentor and subject matter experts.
# Preferred Qualifications:
• One or more areas of specialized knowledge balanced with general skills and knowledge, such as knowing more frontend technologies and, at a high level, how a service handles an HTTP request.
• Experience in code review practices and an understanding of how to safely update production systems.
• Familiarity with navigating and managing work in large code bases.
Hybrid Work at Stripe
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This approach balances bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning while supporting flexibility in how this is achieved.
Pay and Benefits
The annual US base salary range for this role is $122,100 – $134,400. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning it includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary. This salary range might be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants outside the US can request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
Additional benefits include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
