Job Description: Software Engineer Intern
Job Summary:
CooperSurgical is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to contribute to the design, development, and verification of its medical devices. The intern will engage in relevant engineering projects, with a primary focus on software applications and product development processes.
Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks crucial to software development in a medical device context:
• Assisting the Software Engineering team with the design, development, and verification of medical devices.
• Performing unit tests and integration tests, as well as documenting and analyzing the results.
• Writing test plans and comprehensive reports.
• Programming, coding, and developing software applications and test applications, along with documenting their design.
• Performing troubleshooting tasks for both simple and complex software applications.
• Prototyping software applications and user interface (UI) designs.
• Identifying and automating manual steps in current workflows to enhance process efficiency.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Must be a current college student majoring in Computer Science or a related field, entering their Sophomore, Junior, Senior year, or pursuing a Masters degree.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
• Intermediate skill in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Possession of strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, and the ability to carry out tasks independently.
• Excellent project management, organizational, and follow-through skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates a professional demeanor.
• Ability to program in C, C++, MATLAB, Python, and/or any high-level programming language.
• Ability to read, write, and understand software design documents and software requirements documents.
• Ability to recreate, troubleshoot, and fault find software defects.
• Familiarity with modern technologies such as Cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Prior internship experience.
