Job Description: Software Engineer Intern – Global Industry Unit (GIU)

Oracle’s Global Industry Unit (GIU) is a large development organization (over 23,000 employees) specializing in industry-specific cloud applications. With a significant annual R&D investment ($700+ million), the GIU serves millions of users and thousands of cloud customers worldwide. The unit focuses on complex business problems across numerous industries, including Communication, Construction & Engineering, Energy & Water, Financial Services, Hospitality, Life Sciences, Local Government, Restaurants, and Retail. This internship is specifically within the Construction & Engineering sector.

What You’ll Do:

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will:

• Design and build innovative new systems from the ground up.
• Write code, complete programming projects, and perform testing and debugging of Oracle software.
• Work on cutting-edge technologies to solve real-world problems in a collaborative, agile environment.

What You’ll Bring (Objective Minimum Qualifications):

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent) during the 2025-2026 school year.
• Completed at least your sophomore year by Summer 2025.
• Proficient in at least two programming languages: Java, Python, C#, SQL, JavaScript, CSS, HTML (proficiency defined as ability to complete coding projects independently).
• Completed coursework, projects, internships, or research in at least three areas: Artificial Intelligence Algorithms, Big Data, Data Structures, Database, Machine Learning, Object-Oriented Programming, Software Programming, Web/Mobile Development, Micro-Services Architecture, Container Architecture (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), User Interface Design.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• At least one completed internship, research assistantship, or teaching assistantship in a relevant computer science area.

Program Dates: May – December 2025 (full-time)
