Job Description: Software Engineer (Dynamics)
SpaceX’s Starship Dynamics team is responsible for all dynamic and vibration analyses on the Starship vehicle. This involves supporting the structural design, analysis, and verification of both the Starship booster and ship.
Responsibilities:
• Implement tools for dynamics analysis for the Starship vehicle.
• Create and maintain a cutting-edge software platform for reliably executing and managing large processing tasks.
• Build highly robust and scalable software for multiple analysis teams.
• Work with analysis groups to automate processes and support rapid development iteration.
• Provide software support for test and launch operations.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of development experience with Python, Javascript, and/or SQL (internships and school projects count).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Background in physics or engineering-based simulation.
• Knowledge of dynamics and aerospace environments.
• Strong Python skills.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to independently own projects, define requirements, work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and deliver successful outcomes.
• Experience with full-stack software development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with MATLAB.
Compensation and Benefits: The salary range varies depending on level (I or II) and experience, with Level I ranging from $120,000.00 – $145,000.00 per year and Level II ranging from $140,000.00 – $170,000.00 per year.
