Job Description:
This position is for a Software Engineer to work on Kindle applications across multiple digital surfaces (e.g., mobile devices, Kindle e-readers). The role involves significant contribution throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), from initial scoping and design to deployment and maintenance. Key responsibilities include:
• Independent contribution to the SDLC: This includes design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software.
• Developing innovative solutions: The role requires creating simple yet innovative software solutions, improving existing systems, and developing new methodologies and utilities.
• Defining technical requirements and specifications: The engineer will help define the technical aspects needed to meet business goals.
• Collaboration and communication: Working with stakeholders and peers to understand business needs and ensure solutions deliver value.
• Adherence to best practices: Following established software development and documentation best practices to ensure high-quality software.
The team focuses on software supporting e-book readers on various mobile platforms and Kindle devices. They value teamwork and encourage leadership opportunities. The goal is to provide high-quality reading experiences across different operating systems and devices.
Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years of professional software development experience (excluding internships).
• 2+ years of experience in system design and architecture (including design patterns, reliability, and scalability).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in the full SDLC (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
The salary range is listed as $129,300 – $223,600 annually, dependent upon location and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and benefits.
