About the Company:

Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) is a visual effects company renowned for its work in film and television. They are seeking a Technology Project Manager intern to support their engineering teams in developing tools for artists to create VFX.

Job Description:

This is a Software Development Project Manager Internship focused on artist tools and pipelines. The intern will manage a small, defined software development project throughout the internship duration (May/June – August/September 2025). The specific project will be determined before the internship begins based on current VFX priorities.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a complete software development project lifecycle for an ILM artist tool or pipeline element.
• Gathering and prioritizing project requirements with leadership and team members.
• Collaborating with the Technology team to establish project direction and translate production strategies into a development plan.
• Defining, developing, managing, and documenting project schedules and milestones.
• Proactively identifying and resolving project issues, and planning for contingencies related to production risks.
• Tracking project progress using effective meetings, Jira, and collaboration with technology leadership.
• Learning to scope new projects, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, define requirements and deliverables, develop timelines and milestones with engineering teams, and report project status against defined timelines and milestones.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

The internship is full-time (40 hours/week) and located in San Francisco, CA. The pay rate is $30.00 per hour, with potential for select benefits.
