Software Development Engineer-Test Intern (Summer 2025)

Do you want to write secure, stable, testable and maintainable code, as well as test it? Do you enjoy working on automation frameworks in a team environment?

If this describes you, consider joining Amazon as a Software Development Engineer-Test intern in the summer of 2025.

As an SDE-T, you can expect to:

• Use coding knowledge to create automated test scripts.
• Identify issues in both the original software and the testing scripts.

What You’ll Do:

Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to use technology to validate and verify software.
Invent, refine and develop solutions to help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
Build tools and automation frameworks that enable QA Engineers to easily automate tests.
Troubleshoot, research and resolve defects.
Create & manage bug reports and communicate with the team.

Internship Details:

• Full-time positions, working Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week, typically between 8am-5pm.
• Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager.
• Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work-day.
• Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes.

Location:

• This internship is open to various locations across the US.
• You can provide your location preference during the application process, but it cannot be guaranteed due to factors like availability and business needs.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 18 years of age or older
• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or majors relating to these fields
• Expected graduate date between October 2025 – September 2028 and be able to work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience from a technical internship
• Enrolled in an academic program that is physically located in the United States
• Experience in optimization mathematics such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization
• Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions and adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly

Compensation:

• Base pay ranges from $47.84/hr to $96.15/hr, depending on location and experience.
• Amazon offers a total compensation package including equity, sign-on payments, benefits, and more.
