About the Company:
Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Software Development Engineer II (SDE-2) to contribute to its cutting-edge New Generation Developer Experience (NGDE) initiative. This initiative leverages Generative AI to solve complex business problems within AWS. The team is described as passionate about AWS technology, collaborative (cross-organizational), data-driven, and supportive of new members, emphasizing mentorship and career growth. The team is located in Southeast Asia (SEA).
Job Description:
The SDE-2 will play a crucial role in designing and implementing core components of a reusable framework for various AWS services. This requires strong design and architectural skills (design patterns, reliability, scaling). Key responsibilities include:
• Design and Implementation: Developing critical parts of the reusable framework.
• Mentorship: Guiding junior SDEs.
• Task Breakdown and Estimation: Decomposing designs into manageable tasks and estimating their completion time.
• Collaboration: Working with senior SDEs and Product Engineers (PEs), documenting designs and decisions effectively.
• Decision-Making: Making swift, data-informed decisions.
• High-Quality Implementation: Delivering features with a strong focus on quality.
• Proof-of-Concept Development: Creating POCs to demonstrate feasibility of new ideas.
Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years of professional software development experience (excluding internships).
• 2+ years of experience in designing and architecting (design patterns, reliability, scaling) new and existing systems.
• Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, operations).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
