Job Description: Software Developer Intern
Red Aspen is seeking a Software Developer Intern to join their eCommerce team. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with ecommerce platforms and web development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Website Development & Maintenance: Assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Red Aspen’s ecommerce website, working under the guidance of the Shopify Developer.
• Customizations & Integrations: Support the execution of complex customizations and integrations, specifically helping to connect Shopify with various third-party applications, APIs, and services.
• Performance Optimization: Participate in performance audits of the website, focusing on identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimizations to improve site speed, responsiveness, and conversion rates.
• Design Collaboration: Collaborate with designers to translate visual concepts into functional, mobile-responsive pages on Shopify, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics.
• Industry Research: Research industry trends and stay current with the latest Shopify development practices, tools, and frameworks to contribute to continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Interest: Demonstrated interest in web development, ecommerce platforms, or IT systems, coupled with a strong willingness to learn and specialize in Shopify.
• Skills: Possess strong problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and a proactive and curious approach to tasks.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective team collaboration.
• Mindset: A continuous learning mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment are crucial.
• Personality: Must have a love for tacos or sushi.
