Job Description:

Idea Entity is offering a SkillBridge internship for a Software Developer Intern in San Antonio, TX. This internship is specifically tailored for transitioning active-duty military members. The intern will be immersed in agile processes and will be part of a team dedicated to modernizing clients’ operations and implementing RhyBus solutions.

As an intern, you will join the development team on one or multiple projects, taking responsibility for creating solutions from the initial system design through to delivery to the customer. This is a 3-4 month (90–120 days) internship.

This role operates on a hybrid schedule out of the San Antonio, TX office with two (2) telework days a week.

Key aspects of the role:

SkillBridge Internship: This is an unpaid internship offered through the DOD SkillBridge program. It’s designed to provide transitioning active-duty military members with valuable civilian workforce experience during their final 180 days of active duty.
Team Collaboration: Be a collaborative team player to define, design, develop, test, deploy, and support software.
Communication: Actively communicate with your manager and team.
Innovation: Bring creative and innovative thinking to your work.
Code Management: Maintain code integrity and organization.
Documentation: Develop and maintain system documentation.
Project Management: Manage your project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Development Methods: Follow disciplined development methods.

Requirements:

• Must be Active Duty Military Personnel, with 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to the date of separation and have at least 180 continuous days of active service.
• Basic experience with React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Typescript, jQuery, and REST API.
• Basic understanding of client-side scripting and debugging client-side scripts.
• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions.
• Knowledge of User Interface Design and the Design Process.
• Awareness of recent UI design and development standards and trends.
• Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills.
• Capable of managing multiple projects and related complexities simultaneously.
• Active collaboration with others in a cross-functional team.

Preferred Requirements:

• Good eye for aesthetics: layout, grid systems, color theory, and typography.
• Experience in developing software using disciplined analysis, design, development, and test methods.
• Understanding of the limitations of web and mobile platforms, with innovative approaches to overcome them.
• Interest and ability to learn additional coding languages as needed.
• Experience in developing best-in-class consumer experiences (user interface designs, interaction models, prototypes, etc.) in a fast-paced, agile, start-up-like environment.
• Must be responsive, flexible, and able to thrive in an open and collaborative peer environment.
• Prior experience with PnPjs APIs.
• Basic hands-on experience with developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Basic hands-on experience with developing custom client scripts for SharePoint.
