The Internship Experience

Interns at Quad are assigned to a specific development team, typically ranging from 4 to 15 developers/engineers. You will receive comprehensive training and be entrusted with “real” programming assignments. This is a very challenging and rewarding experience that offers practical, hands-on experience in the short-term and paves the way for outstanding long-term career opportunities within the company.

Our Development Teams

Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to one of our diverse development teams:

• Logistics

  As part of this team, you’ll develop IT solutions to take customer orders and optimize transportation plans to meet customer expectations and maximize freight savings. This includes efficiently managing products in a warehouse through automated material handling, barcode tracking, and directing material handlers on efficient product movement, as well as adhering to USPS processes and procedures for mailing large volumes.

• Shared Services

  This team is responsible for the support and administration of software, and developing solutions for various corporate departments including Accounting, Human Resources, Data Warehousing, and Supply Chain Management.

• Operations

  On the Operations team, you’ll work on software solutions and maintenance related to our commercial print operations, covering areas such as Job Planning/Imaging, Press/Finishing, Scheduling, and Raw Materials.

• Sales/Marketing & Transactional Operations

  As a member of this team, you’ll be responsible for the support, administration, and customization of software related to key business lines, including Direct Mail, Web Solutions, Commercial & Specialty Print, and Sales/Estimating.

• Client-Facing Business Solutions

  This team focuses on the development, support, and customization of our client-facing software solutions. The team is further divided into subgroups specializing in specific clientele such as Catalog, Publisher, and Retail.

Responsibilities

• Coding, unit testing, and debugging in object-oriented development environments using technologies such as VB.NET, C, C#, C++, VB 6.0, ASP, T-SQL, and MS SQL Server 2005/2008.
• Actively contributing in a team setting to build, enhance, and support custom-developed software that benefits a wide array of manufacturing and administrative operations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
• Completion of at least two semesters of object-oriented programming coursework.
• Unrestricted Work Authorization in the US.

• Ability to work onsite in our WI plants.

Additional Job Details

Please note that employment as a full-time Software Developer does not commence until the candidate has completed their Bachelor’s (or greater) degree.
