Social Media / Marketing – Summer Intern | The Designery North Charlotte

The Tone:
This is a non-paying, part-time internship at The Designery North Charlotte, located in Charlotte, NC. The Designery North Charlotte is a kitchen, bathroom, and closet remodel company that also partners with contractors on new and existing construction projects. This role is crucial for increasing the company’s brand awareness, growing its social media presence, and converting online activity into measurable business results like website traffic, foot traffic, and sales. The intern will build a professional portfolio through hands-on experience in real-world social media campaigns and content creation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Creation: Plan, create, and schedule engaging content, including photos, videos, Reels, Stories, and TikToks, across various social media platforms, ensuring a consistent brand aesthetic and tone of voice.
• Strategy Development: Assist in creating and maintaining a monthly social media content calendar, researching current trends, and proposing new platform opportunities or content series.
• Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and reviews in a timely manner, proactively engaging with followers, local community accounts, and industry-relevant profiles.
• Performance Analysis: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as follower growth, reach, and engagement, compiling reports and using insights to refine content strategy.
• Growth Initiatives: Support the setup and monitoring of paid social ad campaigns and boosted posts, research micro-influencers for collaborations, and assist with promoting giveaways or contests.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or equivalent program in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Prior internship, coursework/project, or freelance experience in social media or digital marketing; demonstrated knowledge of and active presence on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
• Skills: Strong writing skills with an ability to adapt voice and tone for different audiences and platforms; a creative eye for visual content including photography, short-form video, and graphic design; self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
• Bonus: Experience using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar graphic design tools; familiarity with social media management tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, or Meta Business Suite; basic understanding of SEO and social media algorithms; knowledge of Facebook Ads Manager or Instagram Ads.
