Job Description: Social Media Intern

The Social Media Intern will join the Advancement & Marketing team at Family & Children’s Center in La Crosse, WI. The intern will play a key role in promoting the FCC brand and programs through social media and other communication channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Calendar Management: Create weekly, monthly, and full-year social media calendars to promote the overall and programmatic FCC brand on various social media platforms.
Content Creation and Distribution: Work with the Advancement & Marketing Specialist to create and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos, and press releases to media contacts, including traditional news outlets and social media channels.
Social Media Growth: Assist with creative ideas to help grow FCC’s social media presence.
Donor Relations: Assist with donor thank-you calls and follow-up.
Performance Tracking: Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns.
Content Brainstorming & Research: Brainstorm and research ideas for original content, utilizing the video skills of FCC’s Advancement & Marketing Specialist.
Caption Writing: Write social media captions that speak to FCC’s target audience.
Event Support: Support the FCC marketing team at live and online events.
Communications Support: Support the Advancement & Marketing team with various communications needs, special events, and other projects.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, education, social work, public relations, or a similar field.
Skills/Knowledge: General office environment experience with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and design programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Canva).
Requirements: Must successfully complete a background check for all states of residency within the last 5 years.
Location: Primarily located at the La Crosse Headquarters, with potential experience at other locations in Winona and Viroqua as needed.
