About Outride:
Outride is a nonprofit organization with the vision of a world where everyone has access to cycling to support their well-being. They focus on research, cycling programs, and funding to empower individuals to experience the social, emotional, and cognitive benefits of cycling. Since 2019, they have partnered with nearly 400 schools and supported over 250 cycling programs, impacting tens of thousands of lives annually.
Job Description: Social Media Intern
This is a remote Social Media Internship at Outride, where you will support the organization’s mission of providing research, cycling programs, and funding to promote the benefits of cycling. The role offers hands-on experience in social media marketing and contributes to growing Outride’s online presence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Content Creation (60%):
• Brainstorm creative ideas for social media content and initiatives.
• Create 1-2 Instagram posts per week with approved photo/video assets and corresponding stories.
• Submit content and assets one week in advance for review.
• Schedule and publish content across platforms using scheduling tools.
• Marketing & Communications Strategy Support (20%):
• Research and analyze social media trends and activity in similar organizations.
• Track and report on social media performance metrics (engagement, reach, impressions, website traffic).
• Assist with other marketing tasks as needed.
• Community Collaboration (20%):
• Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages.
• Connect with Outride partners and communities to amplify their impact (collecting assets, writing blogs, etc.).
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing or has a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of various social media platforms and their best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative and visually oriented with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva).
• Passion for cycling and working in a non-profit space is a plus!
Pay: $20/hour
Internship Duration: Summer 2025 with potential to continue in Fall 2025 depending on performance evaluation and schedule
Hours per week: Up to 15 hours
