Job Description: Social Media Intern

The Social Media Intern position at AppleTree is designed to provide hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing, supporting the organization’s mission to engage students, parents, and the broader community.

Position Type: This is a part-time, temporary position, requiring approximately 25 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create and curate visually appealing content, including posts, carousels, and reels.
• Schedule engaging content across various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
• Monitor social media channels and respond promptly to comments and messages.
• Conduct research on current trends and best practices in social media and education.
• Assist in organizing and promoting school events and initiatives through social media.
• Analyze social media metrics and report on performance to inform future content strategies.
• Collaborate with network and school-based staff to highlight student achievements and school programs.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for new campaign ideas.

Qualifications:
• Currently a college student pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field; alternatively, a recent graduate seeking an entry-level position.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with various social media platforms and an understanding of their respective audiences.
• A creative mindset with an eye for design; basic graphic design skills are considered a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Enthusiasm for engaging with the school community and promoting positive narratives.
• Exceptional reliability, integrity, and the ability to responsibly handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems using sound, professional judgment consistent with policies, procedures, regulations, or federal and state laws.
• Ability to listen, influence, and execute through others while coordinating across a broad and diverse group of stakeholders.
