Job Title: Social Media Intern
Department: Development Department
Overview:
The Salvation Army is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Social Media Intern to join its Development Department. This role is integral to supporting the organization’s mission by developing and implementing innovative marketing strategies and enhancing communication efforts. The intern will collaborate closely with the marketing and development teams, contributing to all stages of marketing campaigns and overseeing social media profiles for the North & South Carolina Division. This is a volunteer/unpaid internship, offering significant learning opportunities in communication skills, various marketing strategies, and business communication, and may be eligible for course credit.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Monitor social media accounts specifically for The Salvation Army’s North & South Carolina Division.
• Post corporate assets for various commands using tools like Sendible and adhering to a content calendar.
• Create engaging social media content, including formats such as reels and stories.
• Follow current social media trends and provide recommendations for relevant participation.
• Support the development team with various administrative tasks.
• Assist in organizing marketing campaigns from conception to execution.
• Aid in the development of digital marketing campaigns.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
• Demonstrated strong desire to learn coupled with professional drive.
• Solid understanding of different social media platforms and their functionalities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• A genuine passion for The Salvation Army and its Mission.
• Currently enrolled in a related Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master’s degree program.
Certifications:
• Possession of a Valid State Driver’s License.
