Job Description:
This is a 6-month, full-time contract position located in New York, NY. The hourly rate is $16.00, and the starting date is anticipated to be April or May 2024.
Responsibilities:
The position involves a variety of design-related tasks, including:
• Account-focused Design: Exploring and developing CAD skills (prints, color, trend reports, technical flats, presentation line sheets), researching and analyzing trends in color, print, pattern, stitch, yarn, and embellishment.
• Market Research: Creating seasonal retail reports by researching retail and cultural trends and presenting findings.
• Concept Development: Developing mood and concept boards using Runway, relevant social media, and design research.
• Technical Specification & Fittings: Spec’ing measurements, layouts, yarn, and color, participating in technical fittings.
• Material Research & Sourcing: Conducting research and sourcing for yarn, buttons, beads, trims, and other design components.
• Sample Management: Shopping, logging, and returning conceptual buy samples, styling, and altering silhouettes as needed.
• Visual Merchandising: Creating showroom set-ups and styling presentations, validation handouts, and lookbooks for customers.
• Team Collaboration: Attending team meetings and account presentations.
• Technical Documentation: Compiling tech packs, master sheets, and drawing layouts to send to the Hong Kong team.
• Administrative Support: Entering data into various systems, formatting documents (Powerpoint, Word, Excel), performing general support duties, maintaining spec and sourcing folders, and daily communication with the Hong Kong office.
Requirements:
