Job Description:

Ellie Mental Health is seeking a Social Media Content Manager Intern to help drive brand awareness for a new outpatient mental health clinic. The intern will play a vital role in establishing an online presence that aligns with the company’s core values of authenticity, humor, compassion, creativity, acceptance, and determination. The primary focus is to help fill therapist caseloads and drive partnerships with local referral sources.

Responsibilities:

PLANNING: Develop a multi-month social media content calendar with planned posts for each week.
CREATING: Produce engaging and visually appealing content based on the social media calendar.
POSTING: Schedule content using the Soci social media management tool (training provided).
ENGAGING: Interact with users and moderate conversations on social media platforms in line with the brand voice.
REPORTING: Create periodic engagement reports to discuss with the Clinic Owner.
OTHER: Potential to assist with other online marketing channels, such as newsletters.

Requirements:

• Strong interest in building content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
• A portfolio showcasing social media skills (e.g., website, personal/professional social media account).
• Self-motivated with the ability to quickly understand and execute tasks autonomously.
• Proactive in identifying opportunities and developing solutions.
• A passion for therapy and mental health awareness.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to encourage conversations with the online community.
• Creative and analytical mindset with the ability to experiment with new ideas.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong social media copywriting skills.
• Proficiency in taking social media images and videos (with smartphone or other devices).
• A strong sense of design.
• Understanding and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or Canva.

Additional Information:

Weekly Hours: 5–15 hours per week.
Time Horizon: Estimated 2–3 months.
Start and End Date: Flexible.
Location: Primarily remote, with occasional visits to the clinic in Wexford, PA (near Pittsburgh).
Compensation: Unpaid. The company encourages interns to explore academic credit or stipends through their universities.
