About the Job
Undercurrent is seeking a highly creative, trend-savvy Social Media & Content Creation Intern to join our fast-growing, purpose-driven undergarment brand. We’re a woman- and minority-founded company dedicated to engineering smart solutions to everyday clothing pain points, from slip-free no-show socks to anti-chafing underwear. As we prepare for major new product launches this summer and expand our retail footprint, we need your creative energy to help tell our story and grow our digital presence.
This isn’t just a scheduling role; you’ll be a hands-on contributor, shaping our brand’s voice and visual identity across multiple platforms, and working closely with the team to drive engagement and brand awareness.
What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Production:
- Brainstorm, shoot, and edit highly engaging short-form video content specifically tailored for TikTok and Instagram (Reels/Stories).
- Design compelling static graphics for Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms.
- Ensure all content aligns with the Undercurrent brand aesthetic and messaging.
- Trend Identification & Adaptation:
- Actively monitor social media platforms to identify emerging audio, memes, challenges, and cultural trends relevant to our target audience.
- Quickly adapt identified trends into original content that resonates with the Undercurrent brand voice and objectives.
- Campaign Support & Execution:
- Assist in the execution of organic social media strategies for upcoming product launches and key marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on developing visual creatives and ad copy concepts for paid social channels (e.g., Meta ads).
- Community Engagement & Growth:
- Actively engage with our followers by responding to comments, direct messages, and participating in relevant conversations.
- Foster a loyal, active, and inclusive digital community around the Undercurrent brand.
Who You Are: Qualifications & Attributes
- Platform Native & Expert: Deeply understands the algorithms, nuances, best practices, and evolving features of TikTok and Instagram. You live and breathe these platforms.
- Proven Content Creator: Possesses a great eye for design, aesthetics, and visual storytelling. Proficient in in-app editing features (TikTok, Instagram) and/or external tools like Canva and CapCut. Experience with other design/video editing software is a plus.
- CPG & DTC Enthusiast: Obsessed with modern consumer packaged goods (CPG) and direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands. You love analyzing what makes them successful online and have a keen interest in brand strategy and digital marketing.
- Proactive & Self-Starter: A highly motivated individual who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to contribute ideas and execute.
