Job Description: Social Media & Community Building Intern

Gatsbie is seeking a part-time (10-15 hours per week), unpaid intern to contribute to the growth and engagement of its network. The role is remote with potential for in-person events in NYC. The internship offers mentorship, networking opportunities, and real-world experience in the startup community building sector.

Responsibilities:

Community Building (NYC Focused):
• Develop and execute a community-building strategy for NYC, including identifying key services, target audience, outreach methods, and engagement KPIs.
• Conduct interviews with professionals to feature their insights in articles for Gatsbie’s community guidebook (with permission to tag interviewees).
• Collaborate with community managers from London and Dubai.
• Modify and distribute community surveys to gather feedback, including an invitation to join Gatsbie’s WhatsApp group.
• Manage engagement within the WhatsApp group, welcoming new members, fostering discussions, and identifying key contributors.

Social Media Execution:
• Create and edit video content for pre-scripted Gatsbie promotional videos.
• Regularly post content across Gatsbie’s social media platforms.
• Repost job opportunities from Gatsbie’s LinkedIn page into relevant networking groups.
• Develop execution plans based on Gatsbie’s ideas, structuring and implementing concepts.

Content & Strategy Support:
• Work with a community manager to organize ideas into clear, structured content and execution strategies.
• Identify high-potential ideas or those needing refinement to guide strategy.
• Serve as a “knowledge hub,” tracking key discussions, content ideas, and strategic priorities for continuity.
• Assist in crafting Gatsbie’s brand identity and messaging for its target audience.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate college student studying Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
• Passion for community building, social media, and startup growth.
• Self-starter with initiative, execution skills, and organizational abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to restructure unstructured ideas into clear, actionable plans.
• Familiarity with LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and basic social media content creation.
• Bonus: Experience with video editing, survey creation, or growth marketing strategies.
