The Exile is a Bengali-language supernatural drama directed by South Asian filmmaker Samman Roy. Rooted in Bengali mythology and cultural storytelling, it explores themes of grief, guilt, and the mystical, set against the backdrop of rural Bengal. The film is completed and is aiming for a mid-September release.

Job Description: Social Media Intern
• Job Title: Social Media and Publicity Intern (specifically the Social Media aspect)
• Purpose: To support the release of The Exile by managing its digital presence and engaging with audiences across various social media platforms.
• Responsibilities:
• Create and manage social media content calendars across Instagram, X/Twitter, and Facebook.
• Draft captions and post content.
• Engage with audiences online.
• Conduct outreach to cultural organizations (including South Asian and Asian-American), media channels, podcasts, student groups, and influencers (with a focus on U.S.-based networks).
• Draft and send press pitches, emails, and media alerts.
• Qualifications:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices.
• Interest in South Asian film, culture, and representation.
• Self-motivated, nimble mindset, and able to work independently.
• Previous experience with PR, campus groups, or influencer outreach is a plus.
• Bonus: Basic Canva or design skills for light graphics (primary graphic design is handled in-house).
• Time Commitment: 8–10 hours per week (flexible schedule).
• Location: Los Angeles-based preferred.

• Job Title: Publicity & Outreach Intern
• Purpose: To support grassroots marketing and press efforts for The Exile, focusing on public relations, artist outreach, and community building.
• Responsibilities:
• Research and connect with South Asian cultural organizations, community groups, college networks, press outlets, and podcasters (especially U.S.-based).
• Draft and send outreach emails and press releases.
• Maintain contact databases and follow-up trackers.
• Assist with screenings as needed.
• Explore opportunities for artist/community partnerships and visibility.
• Support in coordinating virtual Q&As, interviews, or feature requests.
• Qualifications:
• Strong communicator with professional email writing skills.
• Familiar with South Asian media/cultural landscape.
• Detail-oriented, persistent, and organized.
• Previous PR, media outreach, or campaign experience is a plus.
• Comfortable reaching out to new contacts and building relationships.
• Time Commitment: 8–10 hours per week (flexible schedule).
