About Childhood Cancer Society
The Childhood Cancer Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children battling cancer and their families. We strive to make a difference in the lives of these families through various initiatives, including:
• Wish Granting: We fulfill the wishes of children undergoing cancer treatment, bringing joy and hope during a challenging time.
• Fundraising: We organize events and campaigns to raise funds for research, treatment, and support services for children with cancer.
• Community Outreach: We educate the public about childhood cancer and advocate for increased awareness and funding for research.
• Creative Storytelling: We use innovative platforms like our “Adventure Ted Chronicles” Instagram comic series to engage with the community, raise awareness, and generate funds for our mission.
Social Media and Design Intern Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a Social Media and Design Intern. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in a non-profit setting and contribute directly to our mission of supporting children with cancer.
Responsibilities:
• Social Media Content Creation: Collaborate with the Social Media Team to develop and execute engaging social media content for various platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.
• “Adventure Ted Chronicles” Storytelling: Play a key role in developing and executing the “Adventure Ted Chronicles” Instagram comic series, including brainstorming storylines, creating visual concepts, and collaborating with the design team on visuals.
• Design Support: Work with the design team on creating new product designs for our Shopify store, including special holiday items.
• Brain Trust Meetings: Attend bi-weekly virtual meetings to contribute ideas and insights to our platform’s communication strategy.
• General Support: Assist with other tasks as needed, such as event planning, research, and administrative support.
Qualifications:
• Passion for Charity Work: A genuine interest in supporting children with cancer and a strong desire to contribute to our mission.
• Social Media Expertise: Excellent understanding of social media platforms, current trends, and best practices.
• Creative Storytelling: Ability to craft engaging narratives and create compelling visuals.
• Design Skills: Basic design skills using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or Illustrator are a plus.
• Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly, and contribute to a positive and collaborative environment.
• Motivation and Flexibility: A self-motivated and adaptable individual with the ability to learn quickly and take initiative.
• Previous Internship Experience in Marketing or Social Media is a Plus.
