Job Description: SoC Physical Design Engineer, PnR

Summary:
This is a visible role within Apple where you will be responsible for the physical implementation of design partitions, from netlist to tapeout, for a highly complex System-on-a-Chip (SoC). You’ll be utilizing innovative process technology and collaborating with various teams to deliver top-notch designs.
Responsibilities:
• Collaboration: Work closely with the logic design team to deeply understand the partition architecture and integrate physical design aspects early in the design cycle.
• Implementation: Complete the netlist to GDS2 implementation for assigned partitions, ensuring adherence to schedule and design goals.
• Verification: Conduct thorough timing, physical, and electrical verification, driving the signoff closure for the partitions.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design and flow issues related to physical design, and propose and execute solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Architecture, VLSI, Design, Logic Design, or Circuit Design.
• Prior experience in internships, co-ops, projects, or coursework related to the above fields.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple functional teams.
• Experience with Verilog, VHDL, Python, Perl, TCL, and/or SPICE is beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant field.

• Base pay determined within a range, based on experience and qualifications. The range for this role is $55.82 to $84.09 per hour.
