The Elbit Systems of America’s SkillBridge program is specifically designed to connect transitioning service members with valuable career training opportunities within the organization.
Program Offerings and Goals:
• This program provides service members with hands-on civilian work experience.
• It includes industry-specific training, certifications, and practical on-the-job learning.
• The primary goal is to prepare service members for their next mission and ensure they are ready for successful careers in the civilian workforce.

DoD SkillBridge Program Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program, candidates MUST meet the following criteria:
• Be an active member of the US Military.
• Participate within 180 days of being discharged or released from active duty.
• Have served 180 continuous days on active duty.
• Approval authority rests with the first field grade commander authorized to impose non-judicial punishment under Article 15 of the UCMJ in the service member’s chain of command.
• Such commanders may approve or disapprove participation based upon unit mission requirements.
Recommendations and Prerequisites:
• It is strongly recommended that service members complete mandatory components of the DOD Transition Assistance Program (TAP) prior to starting a SkillBridge program. This ensures they are well-informed of their post-service options.
• Services and/or commands may require that all mandatory components of TAP are complete before participating.
• Service members will also need to make a plan for final out-processing, terminal leave, and permissive leave. Specific guidance for these aspects is provided by each service and/or command.
