About IPS:

IPS, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), offers the SkillBridge Health, Safety, and Environmental Fellowship Program. This program provides transitioning service members within 180 days of separation from military service with an opportunity to gain civilian work experience. IPS aims to bridge the gap between military and civilian careers by providing hands-on training and industry-specific certifications. They are committed to fostering veteran talent and facilitating a smooth transition to civilian employment. The goal is to bring on every fellow as a full-time employee upon successful completion of the program.

Job Description: IPS SkillBridge Fellow – Health, Safety, and Environmental Supervisor

This fellowship provides transitioning service members the opportunity to learn and develop skills as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Supervisor. As an IPS SkillBridge Fellow, you will:

Environmental Administration: Learn to administer environmental and government reporting programs, ensuring the location meets the highest standards of awareness, disposals, and conscious purchasing.
Performance Management: Learn and manage performance indicators and HSE dashboards, ensuring data quality and effectively communicating information (risk mapping, significant events).
Facility Inspection: Inspect facilities to identify potential accident and health hazards, noncompliance issues, and recommend corrective or preventative measures.
Lean Tools: Learn, utilize, and promote lean tools such as 6s, Visual Management, and Value Stream Maps.
Continuous Improvement: Learn, update, develop, and own the continuous improvement processes, metrics, and associated tools.
Training: Attend trainings discussing new regulations and safe practices.
Compliance Programs: Coordinate and maintain OSHA and EPA compliance programs.
Program Development: Develop and implement all safety, emergency, and security programs with related training.
Target Achievement: Lead efforts to achieve scorecard targets within the facility.

Ideal candidates will have applicable military experience, strong project management skills, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude. Experience in a lean manufacturing environment with continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Important: This is an unpaid training program under the DoD SkillBridge framework. Fellows continue to receive compensation and benefits from the DoD while in active-duty status.
