This program provides transitioning service members, within 180 days of separation, a valuable opportunity to gain civilian work experience. Job Description: IPS SkillBridge Fellow – Health, Safety, and Environmental Supervisor

As an IPS SkillBridge Fellow for the Health, Safety, and Environmental Supervisor program, you will learn and contribute to various aspects of health, safety, and environmental management, gaining hands-on experience and industry-specific knowledge to prepare you for a successful post-military career.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Environmental Program Administration: Learn to administer environmental and government reporting programs, ensuring the location meets the highest standards of awareness, disposals, and conscious purchasing.
Performance Monitoring: Learn and manage performance indicators and HSE dashboards, ensuring data quality and effectively communicating information related to risk mapping and significant events.
Facility Inspections: Inspect facilities to identify existing or potential accident and health hazards, as well as non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective or preventative measures.
Lean Tools Application: Learn, utilize, and promote lean tools such as 6s, Visual Management, and Value Stream Maps.
Continuous Improvement: Learn, update, develop, and own continuous improvement processes, metrics, and associated tools.
Training & Compliance: Attend trainings on new regulations and safe practices and coordinate and maintain OSHA and EPA compliance programs.
Program Development: Develop and implement all safety, emergency, and security programs with related training.
Target Achievement: Lead efforts to achieve scorecard/targets within the facility.

Qualifications IPS Prefers:

Experience: 4-8 years in applicable military experience (Degree in Health, Environmental, or Engineering a plus)
Project Management: Strong project management skills and process orientation.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite tools.
Personal Attributes: Ability to be innovative, creative and a proven self-motivated, team-oriented attitude, attentive and active listening skills.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, such as the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization and within the presentation setting.
Strategic & Tactical Balance: Experience balancing strategy and execution, ability to get “hands-on” with the business while understanding the processes needed to deliver results.
Auditing & Reporting: Ability to perform audits, write and submit reports.
Lean Manufacturing: Experience working in lean manufacturing environment while practicing continuous improvement methodologies.

Important Note: This SkillBridge Fellowship is an unpaid training program. Fellows will continue to receive compensation and benefits from the DoD and remain in active-duty status throughout the program.
