Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Internship/Co-op at Meraki
As an SRE Intern/Co-op, you will work on projects involving:
• Server hardware and operating systems: Gain experience with the foundational elements of Meraki’s cloud infrastructure.
• Tools for code deployment and service monitoring: Learn how to effectively manage and monitor Meraki’s distributed cloud services.
• Software and systems development: Build and deploy software solutions for monitoring, scaling, and managing cloud services.
You will be part of a close-knit global engineering team and have the opportunity to:
• Make crucial decisions about managing complex, high-performance distributed systems.
• Provide your perspective on cloud services and help develop innovative solutions.
• Contribute to the growth and evolution of Meraki’s cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in projects spanning the entire cloud infrastructure lifecycle, from hardware to software.
• Build and implement tools for monitoring, scaling, and deploying distributed cloud services.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure the reliability and scalability of Meraki’s services.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of Meraki’s internal processes and tools.
Projects and Work Life:
• Starter Project: Begin with a smaller project focusing on integration and implementation of new tools.
• Larger Project: Spend the majority of the program working on a larger project, such as building infrastructure for a new service.
• Cross-functional Projects: Gain exposure to various languages and technologies while developing a sense of ownership within the team.
• Mentorship Program: Receive 1:1 mentorship from experienced engineers, providing guidance and feedback throughout the program.
Examples of Recent Intern Projects:
• Improving Kubernetes node lifecycle management
• Hardening internal microservice containers for security and resiliency
• Building a framework for Airflow unit tests
