About the Company:
This internship is offered by Disney, specifically supporting television shows produced by its banners: 20th Television, FXP, and Disney Branded Television. The internship is located in a North Hollywood warehouse that manages set inventory, construction elements, and production office & set decoration assets for these shows. The team provides services including storage, shipping logistics, asset liquidation, and planning for season/series wraps.
Job Description:
This is a Set Inventory Intern position, reporting directly to the Manager, Set Inventory. The role focuses on supporting the logistical elements of a television set rental/library business, aiming to provide cost savings and promote reuse and sustainability.
Detailed Responsibilities:
• Learning the day-to-day operations: Gaining a comprehensive understanding of warehouse functions, including set inventory management, asset management, and general warehouse administration. The primary focus will be on set inventory.
• Inventory Management: Tracking, searching, and updating the set inventory database. This involves logging new sets with detailed information such as measurements, design characteristics, history, and digital photographs.
• Logistical Support: Creating set transportation memos and coordinating billing/invoicing for sets and transportation. Working with productions and third-party storage facilities to manage invoices and billing.
• Administrative Duties: Handling various administrative tasks including scheduling meetings, distributing documents, and updating the department website.
• Collaboration: Interacting with internal production teams and show-level contacts in the Art and Construction departments.
• Special Project: Developing and presenting a special project to the Production Shared Services leadership team at the end of the internship.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Prior internship or job experience in an office environment or on a production set.
• Strong interest in the television and entertainment industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
• Previous internship experience in a related field.
• Experience using FileMaker Pro and Adobe Suite.
• Coursework in Production, Design, or Architecture fundamentals.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must not have completed one year of continuous employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information:
• Reliable and consistent work schedule is required (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm PT).
• Must be able to secure housing in the Burbank, CA area.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Pay rate: $22.00 per hour (California). Potential for select benefits.
• Internship dates: Approximately January 2025 – June 2025.
