Job Description:

SAIC is seeking a Service Desk Intern in Chantilly, VA. This internship provides a real-world insight into IT work, allowing you to test your skills in real-life situations, explore career options, and gain an understanding of an organization and career path.

Throughout the SAIC internship, you will develop soft skills such as communication, personal effectiveness, presentation, creative problem-solving, and influencing skills. You’ll have the opportunity to speak directly to experienced professionals to gain a greater understanding of the job and working environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide walk-up service desk support.
• Image laptops and desktops (approximately 30-50 per week).
• Work help desk tickets, including new hires, replacement machines, and equipment shipping.
• Utilize and update the asset database daily.
• Provide technical support, either within the company or in support of customer contracts, using established procedures.
• Opportunity to explore all aspects of an IT organization, from technical to support functions.
• Specific duties and responsibilities will be set by mentors within the organization.
• This is an entry-level position where the intern will apply basic fundamentals, concepts, and procedures to expand their classroom knowledge to a workforce level.
