A Taste of What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
This internship offers a unique opportunity to witness the integration of sensory and product insights across a broad cross-section within a major Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company. Previous projects have included:
- Product development for new brands and line extensions.
- Varietal-specific category reviews.
- Competitor assessments.
- Wine style quality monitoring.
- Correlating sensory data to chemistry.
- Shelf-life studies.
As an intern, you will:
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and report on defined projects.
- Learn how to professionally evaluate the sensory profile of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal sensory scientists, winemakers, chemists, and other cross-functional partners.
- Produce written and oral presentations detailing methodology, activities, and results of project work.
What You’ll Need (Qualifications)
- Education: Currently enrolled at a college or university towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree OR have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the School of Life Sciences, School of Agricultural Sciences, or School of Engineering. (Business or social sciences degrees, such as Ag Business, Psychology, etc., are not eligible for this internship.)
- Availability: Must be available for the entire duration of the internship program area(s) of interest (June – December 2026). Requires availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Age Requirement:
- Required to be 21 years of age.
- Required to be 18 years or older (in addition to other age requirements).
- Driving & Transportation:
- Required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR). If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
- Required to drive to and from varying production locations up to 25% of the time.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Physical Requirements:
- Required to lift and move up to 40 lbs when necessary.
- Required to work at heights of 50 feet, on tops of tanks inspecting wine surfaces when necessary.
- Skills:
- Strong applied technical skills and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
