Job Description: Senior Solution Engineer
This role focuses on solving complex customer problems and closing large deals. The Senior Solution Engineer will work closely with the sales team and channel partners. Key responsibilities include:
• Presenting Snowflake technology and vision to both executive and technical audiences at prospective and existing clients.
• Working directly with customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial demos and proof-of-concepts to design and implementation phases.
• Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of competitive and complementary technologies to effectively position Snowflake within the market.
• Collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams to continuously improve Snowflake’s products and marketing strategies.
• Building strong relationships and trust with technical stakeholders on the customer side.
• Navigating and strategizing winning sales cycles, providing compelling value-based demonstrations, and supporting enterprise Proof of Concepts (POCs).
Required Skills and Experience:
• Minimum 6 years of experience working with customers in a technical role.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a data architect, data scientist, or data engineer.
• Exceptional presentation skills to both technical and executive audiences (whiteboarding, presentations, demos).
• Comprehensive understanding of the entire data stack and workflow (ETL to data platform design to BI and analytics tools).
• Strong skills in databases, data warehouses, and data processing.
• Hands-on expertise with SQL and Python.
Strongly Desired Skills and Experience:
• Data Science knowledge and experience.
• University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Software development experience with Java, Spark, and other scripting languages.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with large-scale database technologies (e.g., Netezza, Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum, Hadoop).
• Proven success selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers, including skills in identifying key stakeholders, developing winning value propositions, and planning compelling events.
• Sound understanding and experience within the Australian market and its technology ecosystem.
Bonus Skills and Experience:
• Strong Data Science/AI/ML experience across various platforms.
• Familiarity and experience with common BI and data exploration tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Metabase).
• Cloud provider experience (AWS, Azure, GCP), including experience with native services (e.g., AWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS SageMaker, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Factory).
• OLAP data modeling and data architecture experience.
• Experience selling enterprise SaaS software.
• Proven success at enterprise software startups.
