About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of critical backend services and APIs, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Architect and implement robust, event-driven microservices that integrate seamlessly with existing and new systems.
• Drive best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing strategies, continuous integration/delivery, and documentation.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges related to performance, scalability, and reliability of our platform.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on technical designs, coding standards, and career development.
• Contribute to the evolution of our system architecture, evaluating new technologies and making data-driven recommendations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to maintain system health and responsiveness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on building scalable web services and distributed systems.
• Expert proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java, Node.js).
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex, high-volume APIs (RESTful, gRPC).
• Strong grasp of software architecture patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with message queues and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Proven track record of debugging, optimizing, and improving the performance of existing systems.
