Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Development team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical backend services and infrastructure that power our core products. You will work on complex, distributed systems, contributing to architectural decisions, implementing robust and scalable solutions, and mentoring junior engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of highly scalable, fault-tolerant backend services and APIs using modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Java, Python, Node.js).
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality software.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, ensuring the platform’s long-term scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Perform code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure code quality and consistency across the team.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex production issues, contributing to on-call rotations and ensuring high availability of services.
- Optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for improved efficiency.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending new tools and approaches to enhance our platform.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability within the team.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on building scalable and distributed systems.
- Expert proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Go, Java, Python, Node.js).
- Demonstrable experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
- Strong understanding of API design principles (RESTful, GraphQL) and microservices architecture.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficiency with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of security best practices in software development.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
