What You’ll Actually Do
• Platform Design: Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure microservices and APIs using Go, focusing on high availability and fault tolerance.
• Infrastructure Development: Develop and maintain core platform infrastructure, including data streaming pipelines, distributed caching layers, message queues, and automated deployment systems.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to translate complex requirements into technical designs and deliver high-quality features.
• Quality Assurance: Champion code quality through rigorous unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, comprehensive code reviews, and adherence to established engineering best practices.
• System Optimization: Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability, actively participating in on-call rotations to ensure the stability and health of production systems.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical work experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in backend, distributed systems, or platform engineering.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, including expert proficiency in Go (Golang) with a deep understanding of its concurrency model, error handling, and performance characteristics. This also includes a profound understanding of distributed systems principles, microservices architecture, and API design (RESTful, gRPC).
• Skills: Extensive experience with both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis), including schema design and query optimization. Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, encompassing services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS/GKE/AKS. Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns, along with proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CircleCI).
• Bonus: Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes), familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation), prior experience with stream processing (Kafka, Flink) or message queuing systems (RabbitMQ, SQS), knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog), experience with performance profiling, contributions to open-source, or understanding of machine learning pipelines and MLOps concepts.
