Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptionally talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to join our dynamic product development team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance, and resilient backend systems that power our flagship applications. You will work on complex architectural challenges, mentor junior engineers, and contribute significantly to our technical strategy and best practices. Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of new backend services and features, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Code Development: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code primarily in Python (with FastAPI/Django) and Go, adhering to engineering best practices.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues across our backend infrastructure and databases (PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Code Review: Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality, security, and adherence to standards.
• Deployment & Monitoring: Contribute to the deployment pipeline (CI/CD) and implement robust monitoring and alerting for production systems using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system designs, APIs, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a proven track record of building and launching complex systems.
• Programming Languages: Expert-level proficiency in at least one of Python or Go; familiarity with both is highly desirable.
• Web Frameworks: Strong experience with web frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Flask (Python) or Gin, Echo (Go).
• Database Expertise: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Redis, MongoDB).
• API Design: Extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs; familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure; knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker is essential.
• System Architecture: Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and caching strategies.
• Testing: Commitment to writing comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
