What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex backend services and APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Architect: Contribute to the architectural vision of our backend systems, ensuring their scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Review: Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high code quality standards.
• Mentor: Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in backend software development.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures, and proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Skills: Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Java, Python, Go, or Node.js), solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra), and familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), distributed systems, message queues, and caching mechanisms.
• Bonus: Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, or event-driven architectures; knowledge of performance optimization and scalability challenges in high-traffic systems; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices; prior experience in a leadership or mentorship role; or contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal project portfolio.
