The Opportunity: Senior Software Engineer – AI/ML

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join our cutting-edge R&D team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying sophisticated AI models and scalable machine learning systems that power our core healthcare products. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable, and efficient AI/ML algorithms and systems for healthcare applications.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, medical experts, and other engineering teams to define requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
• Research, evaluate, and integrate state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques (e.g., deep learning for image analysis, natural language processing for clinical notes) to improve existing products and create new capabilities.
• Develop and maintain production-grade machine learning pipelines, ensuring data quality, model performance, and system reliability in a regulated environment.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, primarily in Python, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
• Actively participate in code reviews, architectural design discussions, and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth and sharing expertise within the team.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of deployed AI/ML models, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development with a significant focus on AI/ML applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python and extensive experience with major AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
• Solid theoretical and practical understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms (e.g., deep learning, CNNs, RNNs, transformers, statistical modeling), and data science methodologies.
• Proven experience with building, deploying, and maintaining ML models in production environments, ideally within a regulated industry.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps practices for reliable model deployment and management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g., AI, ML, Biomedical Engineering).
• Experience with distributed systems and large-scale data processing technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Dask).
• Prior experience in the healthcare domain, working with clinical data (EHR, medical imaging), and understanding of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Proven track record of publishing research or contributing to open-source projects in AI/ML.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for microservices and model deployment.
