• Mission: Provide pre-trial and trial support to legal professionals representing clients under commercial and personal lines insurance policies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Litigation Document Preparation: Assists in the drafting, review, filing, and service of pleadings, motions, discovery, and subpoenas, including complex motions like motions in limine and dispositive motions.
• Discovery Management: Reviews and drafts documents for production requests, analyzes and drafts responses to incoming discovery, and meticulously summarizes medical records.
• Legal Research and Writing: Conducts legal research and writing assignments, which encompass the preparation of medical chronologies and impactful deposition summaries for fact and expert witnesses.
• Workflow Coordination: Organizes workflow, maintains filing and follow-up systems, coordinates and schedules depositions, hearings, and meetings, and communicates with clients and expert witnesses.
• Administrative and Trial Support: Provides administrative support to trial teams, retrieves information from the document management system, assembles exhibits for depositions, court filings, hearings, and trial, and maintains knowledge of court procedures and local rules.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Certification in paralegal studies strongly preferred, or demonstrated insurance litigation related paralegal experience. Undergraduate studies in business administration, insurance, or related area(s) preferred.
• Experience: Typically five years of experience in a paralegal capacity, with demonstrated insurance-related litigation; insurance defense is required.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of each assigned file and the relevancy of case information, general knowledge of law office operations and procedures, experience with court filing and scheduling procedures including e-filing systems, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Understanding of both personal and commercial lines policies is preferred, along with experience using case management databases such as Legal Files.
