Senior Manager – Global Compliance & Reporting – Global Tax Centre of Excellence | Ernst and Young
The Tone:
This is a Senior Manager role at Ernst and Young, located in Warrang – Sydney or Naarm – Melbourne, Australia. The CoE is dedicated to incubating emerging solutions, operating complex deals, and driving innovation through market-leading luminaries. This role is pivotal in enabling EY’s ‘All In’ strategy and accelerating the Tax ‘Paradigm Shift,’ ultimately helping clients navigate complexity, regulation, and opportunity through Global Compliance & Reporting services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engagement Leadership: Lead and coordinate global and regional tax compliance and tax advisory engagements, ensuring high-quality outcomes for clients.
• Resource Management: Develop engagement budgets, determine resource requirements, and oversee engagement delivery across multiple teams and jurisdictions.
• Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key decision-makers, identifying opportunities to support client growth and deliver long-term value.
• Team Development: Coach, mentor, and develop team members while fostering knowledge sharing, collaboration, and open communication across global teams.
• Innovation & Transformation: Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and transformation of global tax delivery models, including the adoption of new technologies and AI-enabled ways of working.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior Manager level with core domain knowledge in business tax, global compliance & reporting, and tax advisory.
• Experience: 7+ years of relevant business tax experience, coupled with demonstrated experience leading complex and sizeable engagements while balancing commercial, client, and people priorities.
• Skills: Exceptional leadership, supervisory, analytical, and organisational capability; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across borders; a strong commitment to tax technology, AI-enabled ways of working, continuous improvement, and ongoing learning.
• Bonus: CPA or another relevant professional qualification (completed or in progress); experience leading geographically dispersed teams and managing stakeholders across multiple time zones.
