Senior Logistics Associate – Interagency and Partnership | World Food Programme

The Tone:
This is a Service Contract role at the World Food Programme, located in Amman, Jordan. The World Food Programme is the largest humanitarian organization globally, dedicated to saving lives in emergencies and building pathways to peace through food assistance. This role is critical for coordinating the end-to-end movement of humanitarian cargo through Jordan to Lebanon and supporting WFP Jordan’s efforts to strengthen national supply chain capacities with government counterparts. The work ensures essential aid reaches vulnerable populations and builds strong institutional relationships.

The TL;DR

• Mission: To ensure effective and coordinated end-to-end movement of humanitarian cargo from Jordan to Lebanon and facilitate WFP Jordan’s supply chain capacity strengthening with government counterparts.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Lead: Lead the end-to-end planning and follow-up of humanitarian cargo movements from Jordan to Lebanon, from partner request to closure, and maintain movement trackers.
• Interagency Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with WFP Lebanon and engage humanitarian partners to plan, coordinate, and provide updates on convoys under the inter-agency Logistics Cluster mechanism.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate clearances, movement instructions, loading schedules, and documentation with Supply Chain units, Government of Jordan authorities, and service providers.
• Data and Performance Oversight: Serve as the RITA focal point for corridor movements, ensure data accuracy, oversee stock visibility, and monitor service provider performance and expenditures.
• Government Relations: Build and maintain relationships with government and donor institutions, advising on structures and procedures, facilitating official communications, and supporting capacity strengthening initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior-level professional with secondary school education required; a post-secondary certificate or university degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, International Relations, Development Studies, Economics, Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
• Experience: At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian supply chain, donor engagement, partnership, government coordination, or inter-agency operations. Demonstrated experience in partnerships and stakeholder engagement, including direct engagement with Government of Jordan institutions, is required.
• Skills: Experience coordinating complex humanitarian supply chain or corridor operations with multiple stakeholders, hands-on experience with RITA, SMP, and WFP corporate or ERP systems, and sound knowledge of Government of Jordan institutional structures and procedures.
• Languages: Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic is required, including formal written Arabic for official correspondence.
• Bonus: An established network within relevant Government of Jordan ministries and knowledge of food safety and quality requirements are added advantages.
